In 2010 our club decided to organize a Wine Festival to raise money to support charities in our community and increase the awareness of Rotary.

Rotarian’s Roland Davis and Scott Danner agreed to take on the monumental task of organizing an event of this magnitude and began researching wine festivals in detail. Our steering committee was formed with 45 club members plus key community members.

Our marketing efforts included 4,500 facebook fans, a website, www.cheswine.com, posters in area businesses, street signs at major intersections, wine glasses with our logos and business cards distributed at key events, and multiple newspaper, TV, and radio appearances. See attached report. Our efforts allowed us to donate $100,000 to the Sid Oman Cancer Center, and $50,000 to six other area charities and Rotary programs. In two years we have distributed over $325,000 to local charities.
