Paint Your Heart Out! Chesapeake – Saturday, April 21st
Rain, rain go away and come back after the paint’s dried!
The Chesapeake Rotary Club is going on its’ 21st year of painting and sprucing up the exterior of the homes of our elderly neighbors. To be eligible for Paint Your Heart Out! Chesapeake, a homeowner(s) must live in the home, be age 62 and older, and have an annual income not exceeding $16,000 ($25,000 combined). Disabled and veteran homeowners and those with exceptional circumstances may also qualify.
This year’s “Paint Day” will take place on Saturday, April 21st. Fourteen homes have been selected throughout the City and a possible 15th maybe announced during the week of. Over fifteen local businesses have sponsored a home and over 400 volunteers (made up of corporations, associations, civic and service organizations, public officials, and church groups) will kick-off the day at Paradocks in Greenbrier. Breakfast and coffee is being provided by McDonald’s and Starbuck’s respectively and lunch is being provided by The Courthouse Café and Subway in the Las Gaviotas Shopping Center.
The Chesapeake Rotary Club takes pride in this community service project, not just as Rotarians but as residents of the great City of Chesapeake to show our community what we can accomplish together. Mayor Alan Krasnoff will tour the homes on “Paint Day” and WCTV – Chesapeake Television will be filming throughout the day.
